What is this medicine used for?
- For short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcer and benign gastric ulcer
- Maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis, duodenal and gastric ulcer
- Treatment of active, benign gastric ulcer and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosive esophagitis
- Non- steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) associated peptic ulceration
- Pathological hypersecretory conditions (e.g. Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome).

Contraindications
- Antacids such as aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide: decreased absorption of ranitidine
- Warfarin: increased risk of bleeding
